Solo or Group Travel
Solo Travel:
I enjoy solo traveling because you literally get to do whatever you want at any given moment. Like, literally! If you want to grab a margarita from the bar then head back to the hotel for a midday nap, you can do just that! There’s no compromising on time because the trip is solely about your experience!
The joy of having independence and control of your schedule is one of the major wins of solo travel.
Another win is never having to travel with someone that you may have stark differences with. You won’t need to “find out” along the way while attempting to share an experience that may be exciting to you.
Also, you can budget accordingly! You won’t have to worry about varying expenses due to preferences of commodities, as in “what if my friends book a hotel that I can’t afford” or others such as travel accommodations, excursions, etc., you’re in charge of how much you spend.
I may enjoy the time to myself, but it’s not for everyone. If you may possibly get lonely or prefer to have someone share a new experience with you, then solo travel may not be the option for you.
But I strongly recommend that everyone take at least one solo trip so you can connect with yourself and be immersed in a different culture!
Group Travel:
Win- Instant Friends!
An undeniable benefit of group tours compared to solo travel is that you automatically foster relationships with like-minded individuals!
While there are plenty of opportunities to meet people traveling solo, you have to work a bit harder and often the people you encounter are headed off in a different direction by the time you’ve bonded. My friends are always down to do a last minute trip so a group trip is always an option for me.
Another advantage of group tours are that they provide a different kind of value to travel: security and comfort!
You’re surrounded by an influx of people that essentially ensure that you’re okay, so you’re able to relax and enjoy your trip. For locations where safety is an issue, a tour can be a valuable investment.
Organized travel beats solo travel for new, hesitant travelers. You travel with a guide on private transport and follow their advice on what to eat & where to wander. Not only does it feel more secure, but it can put your mind (and the minds’ of your loved ones) at ease.
Group travel provides you with ease and convenience. You will have an itinerary built for you, accommodations booked and activities planned. If you’re not a planner then the best way to is to book a group trip and have someone plan the vacation of your dreams. 🤩
… All you have to do is show up!
